We’ve all heard them, those euphemisms with subtexts that tell a completely different story. I asked my Facebook friends to share their faves. Here are a few:

Too often we judge on incorrect assumptions. That which may appear as a weakness can reveal a hidden strength.

Limitations others place on you are merely their perceptions, not your reality. They are often totally wrong.

When others don’t appreciate you, use their indifference as fuel to ignite your self-belief.

Sometimes grownups get confused about priorities. They may have never learned the lessons about sharing with others, how selfishness is bad and helping people learn and grow is good. Just because someone is a “boss”, or famous, or “successful,” or rich, or someone a lot of people may admire doesn’t necessarily make them wise or smart.

For all us people pleasers out there. Even with good intentions, every action is a double-edged sword. Want to make an enemy? Make a decision.

Legacy exists in the lives we touch. Our influence can ripple across generations long after our names may be forgotten.
