John Sebastian, born today in 1944, made rock history with the Lovin’ Spoonful, at Woodstock and penning the TV theme “Welcome Back”.

We lost Tammi Terrell today in 1970. During her brief prime, she was one of Motown’s bright stars, recording iconic hits with Marvin Gaye.

For those of us who grew up with radio as a centerpiece, a jingle instantly told us that we’d found the right place on the dial.

Over the years, a number of songs were written about radio. Rock and Roll Revisited lists some of the most memorable.

Dean Torrence turns 81 today. Just saying that is a reminder to us boomers that pages in the history of Rock and Roll are turning.
