With the recent record-high gas prices, non-traditional fuel sources are gaining wider appeal. This site explores the newest generation of hybrids, electric conversions and the bio-fuel revolution, where recycled vegetable oil is used as a cleaner burning alternative.
I experienced the alternative fuel adventure first hand when I converted my 1997 VW Passat to run on straight vegetable oil. It worked so well that I upgraded to a 2001 Jetta. 10,000 veggie miles later, I get up to 40 miles per gallon with an aroma of freshly cooked French fries traveling in my wake.
